[NHL] Colorado Opens New Season with a New Combination of Ryan Lee and Will Malcom

(Denver, CO = Won Jeong) The Colorado Mammoth opened their home schedule against the Georgia Swarm.
The game, held on the 27th (local time) at Ball Arena, saw Colorado suffer a heavy defeat after conceding 12 goals to Georgia.
In the matchup, Colorado’s Ryan Lee recorded an assist on the team’s second goal in the first quarter and later added another assist on O. Rahn’s goal in the second quarter, assisting on all of Colorado’s goals in the game.
Along with his assists, Lee repeatedly attempted long-range shots, working to unlock the flow of the game and once again proving himself as the undisputed centerpiece of the Mammoth offense.
Unlike his previous role leading the attack from the front, Lee orchestrated the offense from behind the primary attackers, distributing the ball and controlling the tempo. When openings appeared, he did not hesitate to take mid-range shots, keeping the opposing defense under constant pressure.
Tim Edwards and Dylan Hess anchored the defense throughout the game, persistently tracking opposing attackers and fulfilling their roles as the backbone of Colorado’s defensive unit.

New Mammoth addition Ari Stevens brought fresh energy to the team this season with several mid-range shot attempts. Owen Rahn also covered a wide area in the offensive zone, helping create scoring opportunities.
Colorado also saw promising movement from Will Malcom, who joined the attack this season and showed strong chemistry with Ryan Lee.
However, Colorado faced a difficult night, especially in the third quarter when they allowed six goals. Despite strong efforts, a series of well-placed shots managed to beat the defense through narrow openings. Overall, it was an unlucky night for Colorado.
At the start of the fourth quarter, Colorado replaced Ward with Nathan Whittom in goal.
Following the substitution, Whittom did not allow a single goal for the remainder of the fourth quarter.
Approximately 10,000 fans gathered at the arena to support both teams in the season opener.
