On the 4th local time, in the first game of the 2024 UFA regular league held at the Pinnacle Athletic Complex in Thornton, Colorado, the Colorado Summit defeated the Seattle Cascades with a score of 23-19.
In this game, Summit showcased new players. Strengthening the defense with players like Dennis Bechis, Logan Pruess, and David Yu added weight.
In particular, Dennis Bechis succeeded with 5 goals, emerging as a hidden protagonist of the team’s victory. Noah Coolman followed with 4 goals, while Alex Tatum and Alex Atkins each contributed 3 goals.
Coolman also added 2 blocks, playing a significant role in defense.
MVP, Jonathan Nethercutt, remained strong.
Nethercutt recorded the most assists within the team along with Conor Tabor with 4 assists each.
Seattle’s Zeppelin Raunig scored 7 goals, becoming the top scorer of the game.
Seattle managed to catch up to Colorado by two points, 13-11 until midway through the game. However, they couldn’t narrow the score difference in the 3rd quarter, ending 19-15, and in the final 4th quarter, 23-19.
The hidden protagonist of today’s victory, Bechis, expressed, “It feels fresh to sync up with former teammates from ‘Johnny Bravo’ and breathe together again at Summit,” adding, “Teammates I’ve synced up with for a long time didn’t feel unfamiliar at all. This is connected to scoring.” revealing his impressions of the team’s highest scoring.
The Colorado Summit is scheduled to play their 2nd game of the season against the Salt Lake Shred at MARV KAY STADIUM in Golden on the 18th.
