(Denver, CO = Won Jeong) In a groundbreaking initiative to make art accessible to visitors of all ages, the Denver Art Museum (DAM), in collaboration with the Clyfford Still Museum, is launching “Art Crawl: A Tour for Infants and Their Caregivers” at The Kirkland. This event marks the first infant-focused program hosted at The Kirkland since its full integration into the DAM earlier this year.

The Art Crawl program—originally developed and hosted by the Clyfford Still Museum—provides an interactive and research-backed experience for infants (ages newborn to 14 months) and their caregivers. It is designed to foster early art engagement, relationship-building, and sensory exploration in a supportive, museum setting.

Set to take place on August 1, 2025, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., the tour will be guided by museum educators who will lead participants through The Kirkland’s vibrant galleries. Caregivers will be encouraged to follow the infants’ natural curiosity, responding to what captures their attention and using art prompts to spark conversation and interaction.

“The Kirkland now allows visitors of all ages to experience the wonderful art inside, which is a big step forward in welcoming families,” said Lindsay Genshaft, Senior Manager of Family Programs at DAM. “Engaging our awesome neighbors at Clyfford Still to help us activate Art Crawl is a warm invitation to introduce art and culture to the tiniest members of our families.”

Originally open only to visitors aged 13 and up, The Kirkland became fully accessible to all ages in June 2025, following its 2024 merger with the Denver Art Museum. The venue now offers bilingual information, inclusive accessibility, and a collection that spans 150 years of decorative arts and Colorado’s artistic legacy, including works by Vance Kirkland.

“The infants that participate in this program are an integral and important part of our museum community,” said Paris Baker, Manager of Family, Early Childhood, and Community Engagement at the Clyfford Still Museum. “We are so excited to partner with the Denver Art Museum to bring Art Crawl to The Kirkland as they welcome young children into that space for the first time.”
