(Denver, CO = Alex Walczak) The Colorado Chamber of Commerce has appointed Ed Sealover as the moderator for its upcoming gubernatorial candidate forum, featuring Democratic nominee Phil Weiser and Republican nominee Victor Marx.
DENVER – The Colorado Chamber of Commerce announced today that Ed Sealover, an award-winning journalist and vice president of strategic initiatives, will moderate its upcoming gubernatorial candidate forum. This event will showcase Democratic nominee Attorney General Phil Weiser and Republican nominee Victor Marx, marking the only scheduled opportunity for both candidates to share the stage together.
The forum promises to delve into critical business and economic policy issues that impact employers, workers, and communities across Colorado. “Ed has earned a stellar reputation as one of Colorado’s most trusted and knowledgeable business journalists,” said Loren Furman, President and CEO of the Colorado Chamber. “We look forward to a thoughtful, substantive conversation between both candidates about the issues that matter most to Colorado businesses and the policies that will shape our state’s economic future.”
Sealover expressed his enthusiasm for the event, stating, “I’m excited to bring our gubernatorial candidates on stage and ensure we can have a deep discussion of policy issues that affect every business and resident in this state.” He brings extensive experience in moderating high-profile candidate debates, having previously led discussions for both the Republican and Democratic gubernatorial primary debates in 2018, as well as general election programs for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce in 2018 and 2022.
Before joining the Colorado Chamber in 2023, Sealover spent 28 years in journalism, including 14 years as a senior reporter for the Denver Business Journal. He has been covering the Colorado Capitol since 2007, focusing on the intersection of public policy and the business community, including topics such as economic development, transportation, health care, tourism, hospitality, and workforce issues.
Sealover has received 140 state, regional, and national journalism awards, and was named Colorado Journalist of the Year by the Colorado Pro Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists in 2020. Since joining the Chamber, he has led The Sum & Substance, the Chamber’s independent business policy digital publication, and launched the Colorado Chamber Office Hours podcast earlier this year.
The Colorado Chamber Annual Meeting Luncheon is scheduled for October 8 at the Legacy at National Western Center. This event is open to both members and non-members of the Colorado Chamber. Registration and additional information can be found on the Chamber’s website.
The Colorado Chamber of Commerce advocates for free enterprise, a healthy business environment, and economic prosperity for all Coloradans.
