[Event] Unicorn Festival Relocates to Aurora with Expanded Attractions
(AURORA, Colo = Won Jeong) The beloved Unicorn Festival, a summertime favorite in Littleton since 2017, is galloping into a new location this year. The event will be held at the Arapahoe County Fairgrounds on August 23–24, offering a larger footprint with both expanded outdoor fun and 50,000 square feet of indoor activities.
Visitors can expect the festival’s signature lineup of whimsical characters, including live unicorns, mermaids, fairies, and princesses, alongside food trucks and face painting. New attractions debuting this year include foam parties, a live butterfly exhibit, unicorn rescue derbies, and more—making it a weekend designed for families, cosplayers, and anyone eager to indulge in magic and imagination.
“The move to Arapahoe County Fairgrounds really opens up new worlds for us,” said festival owner and operator Dana Cain. She noted that the indoor space offers weather protection and comfort for guests, while giving popular features like Creation Station and Storytime Cottage dedicated, sheltered spaces. Even the Princess Palace gets a royal upgrade, free from muddy shoes—plus the convenience of indoor restrooms.
The Main Stage, face painters, several unicorns, and most fantasy-themed vendors will now be indoors, while outdoor highlights will include Mermaid Lagoon, unicorn corrals, inflatable attractions, and a bubble playground. Karaoke Kingdom will provide entertainment in the shaded dining area near the food trucks. Both indoor and outdoor areas will be active throughout the festival weekend.
Hosted by Dana Cain Events—winner of 16 Westword “Best of Denver” awards—the festival offers all attractions and entertainment with admission. Tickets are $25 for the weekend, with free entry for children age two and under. Discounted $82 Family 4-packs are available online through 5 p.m. on June 5. Parking is free.
