[MLS] Minnesota’s Sang-Bin Jeong Scores Two Goals!

(Commerce City = Wongeol Jeong) Minnesota United FC’s forward, Sang-bin Jeong, scored two goals in an away match against Colorado.
On the 25th local time, at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, Colorado’s home stadium, during a 2024 MLS regular league match, Sang-bin Jeong, playing for Minnesota, scored two goals in the 8th and 33rd minutes of the first half, leading the team.
In this match, Minnesota’s head coach, Eric Ramsay, showed his trust in Jeong by positioning him as the lone striker, and Jeong responded with two goals.
After the match, coach Ramsay stated, “Sang-bin is fast and has a high understanding of positioning,” and “his cooperation in defense is high, not just his attacking skills,” explaining the reason for using Jeong.

In a post-match interview, Jeong shared his thoughts: “There were two left-footed players on the team. So, I thought there would be many chances to receive passes from the left if I broke through on the right.” He continued, “I did a lot of image training and preparation for that situation, and it played out as I imagined, allowing me to finish well.”
Jeong also talked about a goal chance he had around the 54th minute of the second half. He said, “The first touch was good, and on the second touch, the goalkeeper didn’t come out, so I had a lot of thoughts at that moment.”
Jeong commented on his chemistry with the newly appointed coach, Eric Ramsay. He said, “I prepared a lot by building my body from last year. I think the coach noticed that and gave me many opportunities.”
The match between Minnesota and Colorado ended in a 3-3 draw.
With this match, Colorado ranked 6th in the Western Conference, while Minnesota ranked 2nd.
Colorado will host Austin FC on June 15th.
