(Denver, CO = Won Jeong) The Colorado Rockies delivered a commanding performance at Coors Field on Tuesday night, defeating the Chicago Cubs 7-3 in front of an enthusiastic home crowd.

The Rockies’ offense came alive in the middle innings, plating five runs between the fourth and sixth frames to break open what had been a tight contest. Colorado’s bats found their rhythm, collecting ten hits on the evening.

The home team’s pitching staff held strong after some early struggles, limiting Chicago to just three runs despite the typically hitter-friendly confines of Coors Field. The Rockies’ bullpen was particularly effective, shutting down the Cubs’ lineup over the final three innings to seal the win.

With the victory, Colorado improved their June record and provided their faithful fans with an exciting Tuesday night at the ballpark. The Cubs, meanwhile, will look to bounce back in the second game of this series on Wednesday evening.
