(Centennial, CO = Won Jeong) Denver Summit FC has secured one of its key young midfielders, signing rookie Devin Lynch to a contract extension through the 2028 season with a mutual option for 2029.

Lynch originally joined Denver on a one-year contract in January and quickly established herself as one of the league’s standout rookies. Her consistency, defensive contributions and competitiveness have made her an important part of the Summit midfield during her debut season.

“I’m incredibly excited to continue playing in Denver and for such incredible fans,” Lynch said. “I’m grateful for the trust the club has placed in me, and I’m excited to keep building something special alongside my teammates. I can’t wait to see what we accomplish together.”

Lynch is one of only three rookies in the league to start every match this season. She has played 1,167 minutes, ranking fifth among league rookies and second among all Denver players.

The Illinois native also leads the Summit in several defensive categories. She ranks first on the team with 24 interceptions, 23 tackles won and 67 duels won. Lynch has also recorded Denver’s single-match season highs in all three categories.

Head coach Nick Cushing praised Lynch’s work ethic, professionalism and competitive mentality.

“Devin brings an unmatched level of drive, professionalism and competitiveness that pushes this team to new levels,” Cushing said. “She has worked so hard to get to this moment, and we’re excited to continue this journey together in Denver. We can’t wait to see everything she’ll accomplish in the years ahead.”

Before joining the Summit, Lynch spent four seasons at Duke University. She made 81 appearances, including 54 starts, and earned All-ACC Academic Team honors in both 2023 and 2024.

Lynch has also represented the United States at the U-15, U-16 and U-17 levels.

By extending Lynch’s contract, Denver has secured a long-term midfield presence whose impact has already been evident on both sides of the ball during her first professional season.
