[UFA] Colorado Closes Out Season with Victory

(Golden, CO – Won Jeong) The Colorado Summit hosted Seattle for their final home game of the 2025 season.
Colorado secured a dominant 24–15 win over Seattle, finishing the regular season with an 8–4 record.
With this victory, Colorado ends the season ranked third in the West Division and is set to advance to the playoffs. However, they will face a tough first playoff matchup against Oakland, who finished with an 8–3 record.
The game, held on the 18th at Colorado’s home stadium, Marv Kay Stadium, featured rookie Tobias stepping in as a handler, reflecting the team’s strong determination to win.
Colorado also welcomed back Saeed, who had been out with an injury, adding depth to the team’s defense.
The Summit came out strong, scoring 7 points in the first quarter. They followed with 6 more in the second, leading 13–8 by halftime.

In the third quarter, Colorado applied intense pressure on Seattle, which proved effective. Seattle made several errors, and Colorado capitalized on them to extend their lead.
Strong winds impacted the game significantly.
Handlers and cutters, including Tobias, kept their passes low to minimize wind resistance. There were occasional huck attempts, but across both teams, few were successful. The team that attempted fewer hucks generally committed fewer turnovers.
Ironically, the team that managed to convert on deep throws increased their chances of winning. Ultimately, it was a battle of handlers. Teams that succeeded with short passes to cutters saw higher success rates.
In a morale boost for the team, Alex Atkins, sidelined with an injury, attended as a guest.
Atkins is currently recovering from a right medial collateral ligament (MCL) sprain and is expected to be out for 6–8 weeks. He expressed hope that he could return in time for next week’s or the following week’s playoff game.
Seattle head coach Kelly Johnson commented that several key players were unable to attend due to a canceled flight. “We’ll give it our all in tomorrow’s game against Oregon,” she said.
Meanwhile, Colorado head coach Tim Kefalas emphasized that “safety was the top priority in this game,” likely in reference to the recent injuries to Atkins and Saeed.
Coach Kefalas also noted, “The key to next week’s game against Oakland will be slowing down their fast-paced offense.”
Colorado will face Oakland in the first round of the playoffs on the 26th, with the game set to be held in Oakland.
