[Opera] Opera Colorado Unveils 2024-2025 Season Plans

(Denver = Won Jeong) Opera Colorado has unveiled its plans for the 2024-2025 season.
In November of the upcoming year, Opera Colorado will kick off the new season with “Donizetti’s Daughter of the Regiment.”
In February and March of 2025, the stage will come alive with Puccini’s “La bohème,” followed by Verdi’s “Il trovatore” in May.
Additionally, Opera Colorado has announced a five-year contract extension with the music director, Ari Pelto.
The debut performance of “Daughter of the Regiment” (Nov. 9-17, 2024) marks a significant milestone for Opera Colorado, being the first time the company presents this particular work. This comedic opera, filled with laughter and love, depicts the enchanting Marie navigating the challenges of love and identity. Katrina Galka, taking on the role of Marie, will make her debut with Opera Colorado through this production.
From February 22 to March 2, 2025, Puccini’s “La bohème” unfolds against the backdrop of bohemian life in Paris. Opera Colorado’s rendition of this tale of love and loss features Raquel Gonzáles in the role of Mimì. Kathryn Lewek, a star from the Metropolitan Opera, makes her debut with Opera Colorado in the captivating role of Musetta.
Directed by Kristine McIntyre and conducted by George Manahan, “La bohème” promises to be a captivating performance.
The season concludes with Verdi’s masterpiece, “Il trovatore” (May 3-11, 2025), exploring themes of love, betrayal, and revenge under the musical direction of Ari Pelto.
