[Event] Costume Con 42 Concludes in Aurora, Colorado

(Aurora = Won Jeong) The 42nd edition of Costume Con, a renowned costume and cosplay convention, concluded its four-day run in Aurora, Colorado.
Held at the Hyatt Regency hotel in Aurora, Costume Con 42 took place from March 29th to April 1st, attracting fans and enthusiasts from across the region. The event featured a variety of competitions, including the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Competition and the Historical Competition, showcasing the creativity and craftsmanship of the participating cosplayers.
With a history spanning over four decades, Costume Con has established itself as a premier gathering for costume enthusiasts. This year’s event reflected this rich legacy, with attendees ranging from seasoned fans in their 70s to younger cosplayers just starting their journey.
“I attended this event ten years ago, and it’s a whole new experience to be back here a decade later,” shared one attendee.
Costume Con’s extensive history has allowed it to explore a diverse range of themes, catering to the varied interests of its attendees. This year’s event featured panels, workshops, and exhibitions that delved into various aspects of costuming, fashion, and historical eras, providing attendees with a wealth of knowledge and inspiration. Additionally, the numerous contests and performances offered a captivating spectacle for all.
The non-profit organization Shiny Garden, which organized Costume Con, announced its plans to host Whimsy Con, an event dedicated to anime fans, in Spring 2025.
