(Denver= Ella S. Kim) The Colorado Rockies brought their eight-game skid to a halt with a hard-fought 2-1 win over the Atlanta Braves at Coors Field.

Rookie pitcher Chase Dollander held the Braves to just two hits and one run over 5.2 innings before exiting due to a nail issue. Outfielder Brenton Doyle delivered a solo home run—his fourth of the year—to provide the early spark. In the second inning, hits from Hunter Goodman and Michael Toglia helped the Rockies score their second and decisive run.

Closer Zach Agnos, another young arm, completed the ninth inning without giving up a run, earning his first MLB save.

Despite Chris Sale’s dominant outing—seven innings with ten strikeouts—Atlanta’s bats stayed mostly quiet, mustering only three hits throughout the game.

The victory gave Colorado its fifth win of the season and a much-needed morale boost.
